Queen Elisabeth - Cunard Lines
Hamburg-Oevelgoenne, 17 June 2012
After an afternoon on the Altonale, one of the largest street festivals in Hamburg, I went for a leisure walk down to the beach and the old captains's house of Oevelgoenne to recover from the crowds of people. I had just reached the path that is lining some of the cosiest dwellings (at least it looks like it from outside) our city has to offer, when suddenly a loud foghorn announced the arrival of a huge ship I turned and blinked. And blinked again. The bow of the Queen Elisabeth glided into my view. I was completely take by surprise. I hadn't even known the ship was in town. I got my camera out and jumped down to the beach. This little slide show is the result of this incident.
